Landslide Disaster Special Alert Areas can be confirmed

 You can confirm landslide disaster high risk areas and special landslide disaster high risk areas on the portal site of Yamaguchi Prefecture’s landslide disaster＜外部リンク＞　and at the counter of Iwakuni Civil Engineering and Construction Office, and River Section.
 Permissions are required for specific development activities within the special landslide disaster high risk areas. Construction of new building or expansion/reform of a building are subject to structural restrictions. In addition, there are support measures in renovation and relocation of buildings.

Safety Check of Block Fences

 In order to protect passers-by from the collapse of a block fence due to an earthquake, owners of block fences are encouraged to conduct a safety check.

Safety check points

 Check the following items, and if there is any nonconformity, please improve it to avoid the danger. If you have any questions, please contact specialists.

Safety check points of a block fence from the appearance

□ Isn’t the fence too tall?  Is the height of the fence less than 2.2 m from the ground?

□ Is the thickness of the fence enough? Is the thickness of the fence more than 10 cm?
 (If the height of the fence is over 2 m and less than 2.2 m, the thickness must be  over 15 cm)

□ Are there any counterforts? (If the height is over 1.2 m)
Dose the fence have a counterfort wall that protrudes more than one-fifth of the height of the fence every less than 3.4 m?

□ Is there foundation? Is there concrete foundation?

□ Is the fence robust? Is the fence not inclined or cracked?

Monetary Support for Removal Cost of Dangerous Block Fences　

 We support a part of the cost of removing the block fence at risk of collapse.

Target: Removal work of entire block fence (at least 60 cm height at the risk of collapse) facing emergency transport roads and school-commuting roads for elementary and junior high school.

※A removal work that had been contracted or had started before the grant decision are not covered.

※There are other restrictions. Please contact the section below for details.

Subsidy amount: Two third of the removal cost　（excluding consumption tax）, or length of the block fence (meter) x 20,000 yen, whichever is less (up to 150,000 yen).

Application period: Until December 25th (Wed)

※If the budget limit is reached, we will end the reception even within the application  period.

“Yukata (Summer kimono) Day” for Cormorant Fishing at Kintaikyo

Three plans are available to enjoy Cormorant Fishing at Kintaikyo in Yukata.

Date and time:June 15 (Sat), 22 (Sat), 29 (Sat), July 7 (Sun), 24 (Wed), Aug 8 (Thu),  19:00-21:00

※Cancelled in case of adverse weather or when Nishikigawa river is swollen.

Place: Nishikigawa Cormorant Fishing Boarding Site. (For Plan B and C, gather at Iwakuni City Visitors Center- Honke Matsugane.)

Fee:

○Plan A (wear Yukata by yourself)＝3,000 yen　for Junior HS student or older　2,000 yen for ES student

○Plan B (wear your personal Yukata assisted by a dresser)＝4,000 yen

○Plan C (wear a rental Yukata assisted by a dresser)=5,000 yen

※Boarding fee, dinner box, tea included
